4. Felton Davis III’s bobble catch

Comparing Felton Davis III to previous all-conference receivers to come through East Lansing just isn’t fair. Why? Because while he’s similar to Tony Lippett and as effective as Aaron Burbridge, he’s more freakish of an athlete and he seems to make 3-4 highlight catches per week.

On Saturday, he had a few, but the first one is a concentration-filled catch along the sideline on a ball that looked like it was tipped and almost intercepted.

With the clock winding down in the fourth, the Spartans were driving down 17-14. On third-and-10, Brian Lewerke stepped back and found his big receiver, a little shorter of a throw than he would have liked, for 11 yards and a big first down. The most impressive aspect of the play was the catch by Davis III between his knees, holding firm control of the ball.

This was another clutch play by the Spartans, but unfortunately the drive ended with a failed fake field goal try — if Lewerke was able to find Raequan Williams inside the 5-yard-line, that may have been the No. 1 play on this list.
