3. Brian Lewerke knows how to carve up this defense

Brian Lewerke has faced Penn State one time in his Michigan State career. In that one matchup, he completed 59 percent of his passes for 400 yards and two touchdowns, pulling off the upset of the No. 7 team in the country after a long weather delay.

Many would argue this game was the best in the young career of Lewerke as he looked more accurate and made more ‘wow’ throws against the Nittany Lions than in the entire season leading up to that victory.

Lewerke was on his game all day long against the Nittany Lions and he has the recipe for picking up big yards against this secondary. The Nittany Lions’ secondary was strong a year ago and it’s strong again but Lewerke has found ways to gain confidence against good defenses and he can do so again, getting back on track against Penn State.

The team feels as if it can beat the Nittany Lions and Lewerke must buy into that after watching film of his performance last year against Penn State.

Lewerke has the winning recipe and he just needs to execute it.
