1. Spartans keep it close, game is decided by one score

I know what the line is. I get it. The Nittany Lions are expected to pounce on the Spartans and not let up all afternoon long, but Michigan State plays much better as an underdog.

No one — and I mean no one — is predicting a Michigan State upset, and that’s what will make this game even more intriguing. The Spartans will play the Nittany Lions tough for four quarters, rising to the occasion in a big game in Happy Valley. The Spartans will hang tough and even hold a lead late in the second half.

However, Penn State will come out with the victory, but it won’t be a blowout as expected.

What I’m predicting is a seven-point victory for the Nittany Lions at home. Is that too modest given Penn State’s ability to cross the goal-line with ease? Possibly, but the Spartan run defense will shut Trace McSorley and Miles Sanders down, giving this team a fighting chance.

The offense, too, will finally move the ball and Felton Davis III will get the ball enough to do some damage.
