Remember when I said Trayce Jackson-Davis was close friends with another top target on the Spartans’ 2019 board and that Isaiah Stewart is teammates with a top Spartan prospect? That one player is Keion Brooks.

The Fort Wayne, Ind., prospect has also transferred to La Lumiere in La Porte, Ind., and is playing with Stewart but is also good friends with Jackson-Davis. The two have talked about going to the same school together, but that type of “package deal” is always rumored and it rarely comes true in basketball/football recruiting — it’s more likely in football.

However, Brooks could be the top non-big man prospect on the Spartans’ board, and deservedly so. He’s one of the best wings in the class and ranks as the 21st-best player nationally as well as the fifth-best small forward.

Brooks is a solid jump-shooter but can handle the ball as well as defend. He can bang down in the post, if he needs to, and can also create his own shot off the dribble.

This kid is a must-have, but Indiana may be the favorite here even though he and Tom Izzo have a strong relationship.
