1. Matt Coghlin’s tricky play

Did anyone else see this play coming on fourth down inside the Hoosiers’ 10-yard-line? I sure didn’t, but it shouldn’t surprise anyone as Mark Dantonio has been known for these trick plays over the years and it was one of the gutsiest calls he’s made.

And no, Dave Warner wasn’t in charge of calling this play, it was all Dantonio.

After a trick play saw Cody White pass to Brian Lewerke for about five yards, Matt Coghlin lined up for a field goal on fourth down. It would have been a chip-shot for the sophomore kicker, but Dantonio had other ideas with a 21-7 lead.

What if I told you that there are fans out there who were made about this trick play? Crazy, I know. This was one of those gutsy calls that makes the fan base appreciate Dantonio even more.

Not many coaches in college football can make this call with a two-touchdown lead, but Dantonio wanted to put the game away, and he did it with style.

Oh, and Coghlin was pretty excited about his first-ever touchdown score as the cameras panned over to him dabbing on the sidelines.
