Saturday night’s Michigan State vs Indiana game will be one of the more intriguing matchups of the week, kicking off Big Ten play. Here’s how to watch.

No Big Ten team wants to travel to Bloomington early in the season to take on the upset-hungry Hoosiers of Indiana, but Michigan State faces that test on Saturday night.

The Spartans are looking to avoid a repeat of the 2016 season when the Hoosiers upset Michigan State when it was ranked No. 17, knocking the Spartans from the rankings for good that season. This matchup has an eerily similar feeling and this, too, is a night game.

Brian Lewerke needs to have his third strong game of the season, but the coaching staff also needs to open up the playbook. No more runs between the tackles when they’re not working — more creative run plays would be ideal.

The Michigan State offense will get going soon enough, that much is for sure, but the secondary also needs to step up. The front-seven have combined to form the best run defense in the nation while the secondary has been getting torched.

Will Indiana pull off the unthinkable upset on Saturday night? It’s possible.
