Michigan State Football: 5 reasons Spartans will beat Indiana in Week 4
2. Brian Lewerke will have another strong game
While the run game gets back on track, Brian Lewerke will have a strong game in his own right. He’s played well this season, despite having some doubters among his own fan base, completing 69 percent of his passes for 601 yards and three touchdowns with two tipped passes that have turned into interceptions.
Against the Hoosiers a year ago, Lewerke didn’t have his best game, completing 16-of-29 passes for 185 yards and a touchdown. He had to lead the Spartans back from the brink of an upset to beat the Hoosiers, 17-9, in East Lansing.
The junior hasn’t forgotten about that tough game and he knows Indiana isn’t going to be a walk in the park, but he also knows what it takes to pick apart the defense. He has played well so far this season and will have yet another strong game, this time with no interceptions.
Indiana hasn’t faced a quarterback, or receiving corps, the caliber of Michigan State’s and it’s going to have a tough time slowing down both an elite passing attack and resurgent run game.
The Hoosier secondary could be in major trouble on Saturday evening.
