3. Stevie Scott held to under 50 rushing yards

One of the Big Ten’s biggest breakout candidates this season has to be Stevie Scott. The running back is a two-time Big Ten freshman of the week and he could give the Spartans trouble.

That would be the case, however, the Spartans have the best run defense in college football, allowing a measly 34 yards per game on the ground. That trend will continue, albeit not as stingy on the ground, as Michigan State will hold the explosive back to just under 50 yards on the game, which will be his worst output of the season.

In three games, he’s rushed for 388 yards and three touchdowns, averaging 5.6 yards per carry while replacing Morgan Ellison who has been suspended indefinitely. He’s looked the part and could take over the role if, and when, Ellison does return.

It’s not easy to slow a 6-foot-2, 233-pound back, but the Spartans have the keys to success in this one and the front-seven is going to clog running lanes and force the Hoosiers to throw like they did against Utah State and Arizona State.

Will it work out to a win this time around?
