Through two games, Brandon Bouyer-Randle has been a pleasant surprise for the Spartans. He has eight total tackles and a tackle for loss, surpassing his totals already from last season.

Mark Dantonio admitted they over-used the sophomore Sam linebacker against Arizona State which may have burnt him out a bit in the 100-degree heat of Tempe. He’ll have a chance to break his single-game highs against a run-heavy Indiana team on Saturday and the staff might dial up some blitz packages for him as well.

We haven’t seen quite everything Bouyer-Randle can do, but he’ll be a prominent figure on the Spartans’ defense Saturday as the starting Sam linebacker ahead of Tyriq Thompson and Jon Reschke.

The former Army All-American has yet to truly get his shot with the Spartans, but this season could be his chance to shine. He’ll have a big game against the Hoosiers, finishing with eight tackles, two for loss and a sack with a pass deflection as well.
