1. Michigan State covers the spread, and then some

Here we are again. In my weekly preview, I have the Spartans winning 35-31, but in the spirit of being bold, I’m going to say the Spartans cover that six-point spread, and then some.

Must Read: MSU football: 5 bold predictions for September

Michigan State being favored by six is actually a surprise, but it shouldn’t be. The Spartans should win this one on the road as they’re clearly the better team, on paper. Arizona State has playmakers such as Manny Wilkins, N’Keal Harry and Eno Benjamin, but the Spartans can match those guys.

If the four previous bold predictions come true, covering the spread won’t be too difficult. That’s a big if, though. The Spartans surely have their work cut out for them.

Michigan State is going to finally end the Big Ten’s drought in the desert and pull off a double-digit win thanks to big games from LJ Scott, Brian Lewerke and the receiving corps. Heck, the tight ends could finally get some love as well.
