8. Cody White leads the team in receiving yards

Everyone’s talking about Felton Davis III as the team’s top receiver and arguably the No. 1 target in the Big Ten. While they’re not necessarily wrong, he’s going to get every opponent’s No. 1 cornerback shadowing him game in and game out and taking on the challenge of shutting down the Spartans’ elite receiver.

That means he may not lead the team in yards. He has a huge target on his back, but that may shift to Cody White by the mid-point of the season.

Although I think Davis III is an NFL receiver and is capable of putting up over 1,000 yards and surpassing 10 touchdown catches, White is going to be that second option for the Spartans who sneaks up and steals some targets.

White finished his freshman season with 35 catches for 490 yards and four touchdowns, good for third on the team, but he’s going to soar to the No. 1 spot in 2018.

Expect a 70-catch, 1,000-yard season for the sophomore wide out. It looks like the Spartans will have yet another receiver of the year candidate.
