1. Michigan State wins Big Ten East

The Big Ten East title is up for grabs and Michigan State is one of four serious contenders to win the crown and get back to the conference championship game.

The other contenders are Michigan, Penn State and Ohio State and according to one of the previous predictions, the Spartans will take out all three of those teams, racing out to the No. 1 spot in the East race.

Though the Spartans will beat those three (yes, this is bold me talking), the division title isn’t necessarily a given. Any of those teams could have just one conference loss by the end of the year and if Michigan State finishes with two losses, it’s game over.

Fortunately, the Spartans will finish with one conference defeat as well and they’ll hold the tie-breaker over Ohio State, who I’m predicting as the other one-loss team. Michigan will finish with two losses, just ahead of Penn State in the division standings.

Michigan State will win the Big Ten East and head to Indianapolis to face Wisconsin. Will the Spartans beat the Badgers? That’s a toss-up, but it’ll be a defensive battle and a classic matchup between budding rivals.
