5. Superior offensive line

The offensive line is something that gets lost in the mix when talking about the advantages and disadvantages for both teams.

Michigan State’s offensive line still has plenty of work to do, but there’s no doubt the Spartans’ front is more consistent and proven than what the Wolverines have to offer.

It’s no secret that Michigan’s offensive line was a major weakness in 2017 and that unit is returning and talking the talk this offseason, but can it walk the walk? I’m skeptical, and so are Michigan fans. The offensive line makes the offense go, and Michigan State will have the advantage here with five quality returning starters and nice depth.

Tyler Higby, David Beedle, Cole Chewins, Luke Campbell and Kevin Jarvis all have starting experience and Matt Allen, Jordan Reid and AJ Arcuri will be quality backups.

Michigan just doesn’t have that consistency or proven depth.

Advantage, Spartans.
