Did Darrell Stewart Jr. already break out? Some could argue that he did just that with 50 catches for 501 yards and two touchdowns, but he has just scratched the surface.

Stewart Jr. finally got extended playing time as a sophomore, but his numbers dwindled near the end of the year. In fact, he finished with just 10 catches for 74 yards in his final four games, ended his season on a quiet note after getting off to a red-hot start.

If he can put a full season together as a junior, he could become one of the best, and most dynamic, receiver threats in the Big Ten.

Standing 6-2 and weighing in at 210 pounds, he already has great size for a kid who can shake and bake like he does. He’s elusive, quick and tough to bring down in the open field. He has good hands, but drops on occasion, and can even take end-arounds for big gains — a-la Keshawn Martin.

Although 50 catches for 501 yards seems like a breakout, we may have yet to see the best of Stewart Jr., especially if his spring game performance is any indication.
