Why is Nebraska on this list just one season after missing out on a bowl game? Well, because the Cornhuskers are under new direction and Scott Frost seems poised to lead his alma mater back to the national spotlight — and he seems like the right man for the job. Add that to the fact this is in Lincoln and you have a tough matchup for the green and white.

The last time Michigan State traveled to Lincoln for a Big Ten road game, the Cornhuskers got the better of the Spartans, controversially, by a touchdown late in the game. The atmosphere was scary under the lights and that definitely had something to do with the outcome.

Cornhuskers fans are some of the most loyal in all of sports and they are also the most passionate. They will make this game tougher on the Spartans than a normal Big Ten road game and it also has the potential to decide Michigan State’s fate in the Big Ten standings.

The game comes after Ohio State and before the season finale against Rutgers. If the Spartans need to win this one in order to stay in the Big Ten East race, this becomes the most important game of the year.
