2. Relationships with fellow class members

When you look at the Spartans’ 2018 class, it’s loaded with in-state talent. In fact, the Spartans currently have 11 players committed and six of them come from the state of Michigan. As you can imagine, Michael Fletcher has developed relationships with those in-state kids as he’s camped with them and visited campus with them.

Developing strong bonds with those guys helps the Spartans’ chances because he may not have those relationships at other programs, especially out of state.

No, Fletcher doesn’t see guys committed to Alabama, Nebraska or Nebraska as much as he does those who have verbally pledged to Michigan and Michigan State. The Spartans have been cleaning up in the state much more and people looked at the Devontae Dobbs commitment as the initiation of a domino effect.

Could the group of in-state guys be in direct communication? It sure seems that way. Plus, three-star MSU wide out target Tre Mosley also announced he will be making a big decision on Friday and Jaren Mangham is close to picking his college, too.

Spencer Brown and Julian Barnett have been recruiting like crazy, and they may have done enough to land Fletcher.
