3. Other officials failed to gain momentum

There was an obvious difference between Michael Fletcher’s momentum following the Michigan State visit in early May and other trips to his top schools. Plus, a couple of programs may have jumped in the race just a tad late — Alabama offered in March, Nebraska in February and Michigan in January.

Michigan State has made Fletcher a priority from the beginning, and that’s the type of love recruits desire. The Spartans have shown him that he’s the top defensive target on the board, after Julian Barnett’s commitment, and a commitment from him would make the class.

As for a couple of his officials which didn’t gain momentum, his trip to Kentucky was a big one and the Wildcats may have made up some ground with the Spartans, but it may have been too little too late.

Moreover, he cancelled his official to Wisconsin and recently cut them from his top schools list. He also never made a trips to Alabama or Nebraska. That really narrows things down to Michigan, MSU and Kentucky with the Spartans holding the momentum.

It’d be a shock to see him commit elsewhere.
