From one Scott to another, LJ Scott is one of the elite players on the offensive side of the ball as opposed to Josiah on defense.

Unlike Josiah Scott, LJ is one of the team’s veterans, returning for his senior season with the Spartans. He decided to pass up on the opportunity to enter the NFL draft to come back and improve in his final season of eligibility. He has the talent to be an NFL running back, but needs to have the right state of mind — he showed his maturity by returning.

Scott was named honorable mention All-Big Ten in 2017 after accounting for 898 yards and four touchdowns. He came on at the end of the season and that’s the momentum he’s hoping to maintain to begin the 2018 campaign.

Moreover, Scott was a third-team All-Big Ten selection as a sophomore and was named to the All-Big Ten Freshman team in 2015 — his touchdown cemented the 2015 Big Ten title win for the Spartans.

If he reaches 1,000 yards for the first time in his career, which is likely without Madre London and Gerald Holmes around, he’ll be a candidate for first-team All-Big Ten.
