Michigan State basketball is getting a big visit from five-star center Isaiah Stewart on June 8, according to reports. Could the Spartans make up ground?

Just a week after naming Michigan State in his list of top schools, five-star big man Isaiah Stewart is already planning a visit to East Lansing.

In fact, the La Lumiere star listed the Spartans among Syracuse, Georgetown, Notre Dame, Villanova, Duke, Indiana, Texas, Louisville and Washington in his top 10, but three are getting unofficial visits as early as this week.

According to Evan Daniels, Stewart is setting unofficial visits for Indiana, which he’s currently on, Notre Dame and Michigan State.

That visit to East Lansing is expected to take place on June 8, according to his 247Sports recruiting profile. He could be the top big man target in the 2019 class for the Spartans and his visit to East Lansing this weekend could be crucial when it comes to making up ground with programs like Duke and Villanova.

Tom Izzo has told Stewart that he’d be a perfect fit with Michigan State and he’d be dominant in the post. He could throw that 6-foot-8, 243-pound frame to bully opponents in the post at the next level but it’ll take quite the recruiting pitch to get him to choose the Spartans over Duke.

Izzo has had trouble beating Duke on the court as well as in the recruiting landscape, but he’s hoping this instance is different. The Spartans have Stewart among their top targets in 2019 along with Keion Brooks, Harlond Beverly, Vernon Carey Jr. and Rocket Watts.
