It may be something, it may be nothing, but Michigan State basketball finds itself in a heated battle with DePaul, per 247Sports, for Romeo Weems.

File this under the ‘I never thought I’d see the day’ section as it seems Michigan State’s top in-state forward target in 2019, Romeo Weems, is trending toward DePaul over the past 12 hours.

Yes, you read that correctly, Michigan State, which was once the clear favorite, has seen its big lead for Weems dwindle, apparently.

The 247Sports‘ Crystal Ball can’t be taken with 100 percent certainty, but there has to be something floating around about Weems’ trend toward DePaul. In fact, he has gone from 100 percent Michigan State (as of Sunday) to 58 percent and 42 percent DePaul.

Recruiting experts such as Evan Daniels and Brian Snow have apparently been getting some information that Weems is DePaul-bound, flipping their Cystal Balls.

What can we make of this interesting development?

Well, it seems like in the world of recruiting that nothing is ever set in stone. While many believe Weems will still end up with Michigan State, the tides seem to be shifting and he could become the go-to guy for the Blue Demons.

It’s tough to get a finger on what he could be thinking, but it looks as if the Spartans are going to be sweating this one out until 4 p.m. ET on Tuesday evening.
