1. Weems fits the Tom Izzo mold

Believe it or not, Romeo Weems would be a perfect fit at Michigan State because he fits that Tom Izzo mold. He’s tough, intense, doesn’t act like a prima donna and has that versatility that Izzo loves.

The four-star recruit does everything a college coach could want. He can shoot, score in bunches, create his own shots, defend inside-out, pass and rebound. He can do just about anything, reminiscent of Draymond Green and Denzel Valentine. No, I’m not comparing Weems to Green and Valentine, but rather putting him on that same level of versatility.

Izzo excels with players who could stay at the program for 3-4 years and do just about anything on the court. His toughness and willingness to go all out on every possession makes him a strong fit in the Izzo system.
