2. Kyler Elsworth’s Rose Bowl stop (2014)

The call: “He won’t go anywhere. He won’t go anywhere. Michigan State stops Stanford and stuffs ’em at the line of scrimmage.” (Fast forward to around the 2:09 mark)

Just in case you missed hearing George Blaha calls, this one was a classic. With Jason Strayhorn erupting in the background, Blaha made one of the more exciting calls of his career while trying to keep his composure in a historic situation.

The Spartan Sports Network is always the best with the memorable calls and this one may be Blaha’s best in the Dantonio era.

Leading 24-20 with 1:46 left in the fourth quarter of the Rose Bowl, Stanford faced a fourth-and-1. The Cardinal looked to get back to the basics and utilize that bruising running game, but the Spartans were ready for it as Max Bullough’s replacement, Kyler Elsworth, soared over the pile of linemen to hit the fullback at the line of scrimmage and secure the win.

Strayhorn’s exuberance in the background is all part of the charm of this memorable call.
