4. Last-second field goal vs. Ohio State (2015)

The call: “From 41 for the win – got it. Michigan State as gutsy as it gets spoil senior day, snaps Ohio State’s win streak and takes command of the Big Ten East.”

Unfortunately, I couldn’t track down George Blaha’s call for this one (it’s no longer on Spartan Radio Network), but there really wasn’t a bad reaction to Michael Geiger’s make.

No one expected Michigan State to have a shot in Columbus, even with a healthy Connor Cook. However, the senior quarterback was ruled out with a shoulder injury, leaving the starting duties up to two inexperienced gunslingers on the road in the biggest game of the year.

All they had to do was keep Michigan State within striking distance, and they did just that. The Spartan defense stepped up and stymied Ohio State’s electrifying offense, keeping the game knotted at 14-14 with seconds left on the clock.

Geiger lined up for a 41-yard field goal and the win and his confidence never waned. He drilled it and windmilled the length of the field. George Blaha’s call has to be better than ESPN’s, but it’s still memorable.
