If you’re looking for one of the rising stars of the 2019 class, Lance Dixon is your guy. The West Bloomfield prospect is rising in the recruiting ranks and could see another bump in the near future after being named linebacker MVP at The Opening regional in Ohio. He was invited to The Opening in Oregon over the summer where he could gain even more national recognition.

Dixon continues to impress as he has all the tools to be a great collegiate linebacker. He’s quick laterally, has decent coverage skills, flashes aggression and can spot the ball-carrier like a heat-seeking missile.

Although he could afford to add some muscle, standing 6-foot-3 and weighing just 195 pounds, he has room to grow and his frame will allow him to become a monstrous linebacker — just imagine what Ken Mannie could do for this kid.

Michigan is Michigan State’s main competition, but other Big Ten programs such as Penn State and Wisconsin have been pushing for him. Ohio State, too, has gotten in on his recruitment.

Dixon seems destined to remain in the conference and Michigan State would be lucky to win this battle. He’s ranked the No. 171 prospect in the nation and fourth-best in Michigan.
