Michigan State football has extended a major offer to the nation’s top running back prospect in the 2020 class, five-star Zachary Evans.

While Michigan State’s 2019 recruiting class is still in the works, Mark Dantonio and the staff have shifted their focus to the 2020 cycle. They may have just extended their biggest offer to five-star running back Zachary Evans.

The Houston, Texas, native may have already developed strong relationships with other coaching staffs such as LSU’s and Texas’ as those two are some of his favorites. Texas A&M and Alabama are also showing major interest and there’s a good chance he could be eying the SEC for his college ball.

It’s rare for a kid in the 2020 class to already have over 20 offers, but Evans holds nearly 35 total. Yes, 35 scholarship offers for a kid who is barely driving age.

When you watch his highlight reel, it’s easy to see why he’s the most coveted running back in the class. He runs hard, has elite breakaway speed and his vision is impressive even in the least desirable situations. He keeps his calm even when it seems like he’s about to go down.

Evans keeps his feet churning at all times and has an innate ability to spot holes and burst right through them. He has a strong frame at 5-foot-11 and 200 pounds, making him a load to take down for any defensive back he meets in the open field — even linebackers.

Michigan State got in the running late, but the Spartans have reeled Houston-area recruits in the past and Dantonio is looking to keep that pipeline going. Evans is a different beast, though.
