Two years ago, if you asked me about Felton Davis III’s draft prospects, I would have said that he has a lot of potential, but it hasn’t translated to live game situations.

Fast forward to the year 2018 and we are talking about Davis III as Michigan State’s top draft prospect after one of the better seasons from a receiver under Mark Dantonio. He could end up being Michigan State’s third 1,000-yard receiver in the past five years, following the footsteps of Aaron Burbridge and Tony Lippett who were both Big Ten receivers of the year and NFL draft picks.

Davis III has excellent size at 6-foot-4, but his slim frame is concerning. He did, however, vow to gain some muscle and emulate Julio Jones. He also set a 100-catch, 1,000-yard goal for the 2018 season.

NFL scouts have to be drooling over Davis III’s potential and even though we didn’t get to see him during the spring game, he could be on track for that 1,000-yard season with his improved work ethic.

Davis III had 14 catches for 200 yards and a touchdown through his first two seasons, but the Virginia-native broke out in 2017 with 55 receptions for 776 yards and nine touchdowns.
