After spending his first season as a decent depth piece, Mike Panasiuk stood out as a starter in 2017 before suffering injuries. He finished the year with 23 tackles and three of them for loss but he didn’t have a single sack.

According to co-defensive coordinator Mike Tressel, Panasiuk has been one of the MVPs of spring ball thus far and he’s been putting in the work to piece together a big 2018 campaign.

The 6-foot-4, 297-pound defensive tackle could be a player to watch after a quiet first two seasons and endless potential. He’s as strong as anyone on the team and has a quick first step for a player his size.

The interior of the defensive line is in good shape with Raequan Williams and Panasiuk leading the way.
