2. Michigan State wins the national title

Am I sipping too much green Kool-Aid? Probably, but this team’s mindset at the beginning of the season was national title or bust, and that hasn’t changed. The fans may have adjusted their expectations after a second loss to Michigan, but the players and coaches have not.

This team is supremely talented and they can beat just about anyone as long as they play their game. They got away from that against Michigan and settled for too many jumpers, which played right into Michigan’s hands. That led to a couple of tough losses, but that shouldn’t cause panic.

The one game that could give the Spartans trouble is Duke, but once the Spartans beat them, exacting revenge for an earlier loss, the confidence will continue to build. Bucknell, Syracuse, Duke, Kansas, Villanova and Arizona will all fall victim to the Spartans as they hoist the championship trophy in San Antonio.

Could this be Tom Izzo’s last season as the Spartans’ head coach? He claimed he didn’t have any intentions of stepping down, but it’s been debated for a while now that if he wins another title, he may hang it up.

Let’s hope this motivates him to win some more.
