There’s a reason Miles Bridges decided to come back for his sophomore year. No, it wasn’t to improve his draft stock nor win Big Ten or National Player of the Year awards, but rather team accomplishments. If you asked him before the season what his goals were for 2017-18, he would have mentioned nothing but titles and wins rather than awards and personal achievements.

Fast forward to March 2018 and the same would hold true. The sophomore sensation may not have been a National Player of the Year front-runner, like many expected, but he did have a quality season, averaging about 17 points per game and leading the Spartans to a Big Ten title — that was one of his goals.
Bridges’ No. 1 goal remains on the horizon, though. He has constantly spoken about the desire to bring home a national title. He wanted to return for his sophomore year to cement a legacy the likes of Mateen Cleaves and Magic Johnson, and he’s going to be motivated to do just that.
