3. Spartans win the Big Ten Tournament, earn No. 1 seed

This isn’t all that bold, but this is something that’s only happened three other times in Michigan State history — winning both the Big Ten regular season and tournament titles. The last time the Spartans won both was in 2012 and they made just the Sweet 16 that season. The previous time prior to 2012 was in 2000 and we all know what happened that season.

While I’m not sitting here and saying that a Big Ten Tournament win is going to result in a national title for the Spartans, it certainly would work wonders for momentum’s sake.

Getting that No. 1 seed is more important than people realize. Need proof? Just go back and look at the 2016 Spartans. Michigan State was one of the top teams in the country and won the Big Ten Tournament but was given a No. 2 seed, surprisingly. They drew 15-seed Middle Tennessee and the Blue Raiders pulled off the mammoth upset. If the Spartans are a 1-seed, they avoid that mess.

Michigan State will run past Wisconsin, get revenge over Michigan and beat Purdue for the second time this season to win the Big Ten tourney and earn a No. 1 seed in Detroit on Selection Sunday.
