2. Cassius Winston wins Big Ten Tournament MVP

There’s one player who is currently red-hot heading into the Big Ten Tournament on the Spartans and, no, it’s not Miles Bridges. Although the first-team All-Big Ten selection led the team in scoring this season, he struggled in the last few games but his good friend, and fellow sophomore, Cassius Winston sure didn’t.

In fact, Winston is averaging 14.2 points, 6.4 assists and 5.8 rebounds and he’s shooting 17-for-23 (74 percent) from 3-point land over the past five games — that’s unheard of. All of his numbers seem to be on the rise and he’s looking like the next great Michigan State point guard.

Heading into the Big Ten Tournament, Winston is on fire and that’s exactly what Michigan State needs to make a deep run. Although Bridges might have himself one heck of a tournament, and March in general, Winston is going to be the reason the Spartans make the conference tourney final.

The easy pick would have been going with Bridges as the tournament MVP, but these are called bold predictions for a reason. This could be the start of his rise to MSU greatness.
