4. There’s no quit in this Michigan State team

Leading the Spartans by 13 points at halftime? Be worried. Beating Michigan State by 12 points on the road with 15 minutes left? Keep the foot on the gas. Up by seven with under five minutes to go against Michigan State? Don’t be content. Jumping out to a 27-point lead in the first half and 22 points by halftime? Be aware, Michigan State will not quit.

All four of those situations have happened in the past month, starting with the Maryland game when the Spartans trailed the Terrapins by 13 at halftime and stormed back to take a lead just a few minutes into the second half.

Next, Michigan State found itself down by 12 against Penn State at home with just 15 minutes left and chipped away before taking the lead for good. Iowa then held a seven-point lead late in the second half against the Spartans at Carver-Hawkeyes Arena, but fumbled it away, allowing Michigan State to steal a road win.

Lastly, Michigan State roared back after trailing 43-16 to Northwestern on the road and beat the Wildcats 65-60. This came after trailing as much as 23 points in the second half.

Moral of the story? Michigan State does not quit and that’s one heck of an attribute to have, especially entering the NCAA Tournament.
