3. Cassius Winston finishes with at least 10 assists again

Cassius Winston is having quite the season on the offensive end of the court. He could afford to work on his defense, which will require more lateral quickness, but he’s been one of the pleasant surprises of this year’s team, averaging 12.1 points and 7.1 assists.

Five times this season, he has finished with at least 10 assists. The Spartans are 4-1 when he reaches that mark with the lone loss coming against Duke in the second game of the year — he only scored three points of his own. The better stat is this: when Winston records a double-double, the Spartans are 4-0.

The sophomore point guard did just that against Purdue on Saturday night, finishing with 10 points, 10 assists and nearly hit a triple-double with seven assists. He’ll notch another double-double against Minnesota as ball movement will be the key to victory.

Winston has one of the best shooting percentages from 3-point land in the Big Ten and that will continue as well, making 3-of-6 shots from deep on his way to 13 points. Add 11 assists and it’ll be a tremendous night for the young guard.
