Michigan State football landed a major target in its 2018 recruiting class right before National Signing Day in Jalen Nailor.

Just days before Michigan State’s 2018 class would be sewn up, three-star wide receiver Jalen Nailor decided to make the news official and commit to the Spartans.

There was some worry that he may have cooled on the Spartans after Nebraska offered him and the recent OTL report claimed Mark Dantonio may have mishandled assault cases with former players, but that has since been put to rest.

On Saturday afternoon, the Las Vegas wide out decided to close his recruitment and pick the Spartans over Scott Frost and the Cornhuskers.

What does the three-star receiver, and teammate of Jacob Isaia, bring to the Spartans? If his Twitter handle is any indication, he has plenty of speed to offer.

Nailor looks to be the perfect replacement for players like Trishton Jackson and Hunter Rison who didn’t quite get the snaps they were looking for and decided to transfer this offseason. He actually reminds me a lot of Rison both in his stature and ability to play in the slot.

The Las Vegas prospect could fill in that slot position nicely, replacing Rison. He’s quick, runs crisp routes and can cross up defenders with relative ease. He finds the soft spot up the seam for his quarterback and makes the necessary moves after the catch.

Nailor’s commitment could also mean that the coaching staff doesn’t like its chances with four-star wide out Tommy Bush whom they visited this week.

The 5-foot-11, 170-pound wide out becomes the Spartans’ 21st pledge in the 2018 class and the only one so far not to have signed his Letter of Intent (LOI), but that comes Wednesday.

Nailor is ranked the No. 800 overall prospect in the class and the No. 120 wide receiver, per 247Sports. There’s a good chance he will out-play his ranking.
