Michigan State Football: Messiah deWeaver transferring to East Mississippi CC

It wasn’t exactly the wrong move, but many are sad to see him go as he had a bright future in East Lansing. He did what was best for him, and you can’t knock the kid for that.
No destination for his immediate transfer was selected — that was until Monday afternoon. The former Spartan gunslinger announced via Twitter that he’d be transferring to one of the most famous JUCO (junior college) programs in the nation: East Mississippi Community College.
What makes East Mississippi C.C. so famous? Well, the junior college powerhouse has been featured on the Netflix documentary ‘Last Chance U’ for the past two years. The program, led by fiery head coach Buddy Stephens, has been a national power at the JUCO level but it has been knocked for fielding players who’ve been in trouble at the FBS level.
It’s called ‘Last Chance U’ because many of the players go there as a last resort after getting in trouble or kicked off teams, but deWeaver doesn’t have that issue. He’s going there to contend for a national title and gain some recognition from another major program.
