1. Mark Dantonio’s 100th win

Of course this has to be No. 1 on the list. Heck, it even made the head coach smile from ear-to-ear.

Any time you see Mark Dantonio crack a smile, you know something special happened. Such was the case following a win in the Holiday Bowl to improve the Spartans to 10-3 on the 2017 season and give the 11th-year head coach his 100th win with Michigan State.

Just how impressive is that? Michigan State has averaged 9.1 wins per season since he took over and the program was in shambles when he got to East Lansing. Before him, Michigan State football had just seven nine-plus win seasons in school history. Over the past 11 years, Michigan State is averaging 9.1 wins — let that sink in.

Moreover, the Spartans now have six 10-plus win seasons over the past eight years. Dantonio’s easy win in the Holiday Bowl was not only an impressive milestone for him, but the program as well.
