4. LJ Scott officially announces return for 2018 season

Following the Spartans’ 10th win of the season and a strong showing from junior running back LJ Scott, fans were taken back by a question posed to him by a FOX Sports 1 reporter. She asked him if he had made a decision on his future in East Lansing or the NFL and to everyone’s surprise, he answered it honestly.

“I’ll be back in East Lansing to play another season with my dogs,” Scott said on live TV.

Surely he said this after an emotional win in which he maybe had graduation goggles on. Maybe he didn’t really mean what he said and didn’t have time to think it over before responding to the reporter? Alas, he confirmed it with other reporters and said that with 100% certainty that he would be back for his senior year.

Tom Izzo even called it his “Miles moment” emulating what the star basketball player did in the offseason. Scott wanted to return to both improve his draft stock for 2019 and win a Big Ten title with the Spartans — maybe even get back to the playoff.

Michigan State will be a force to be reckoned with in 2018 as it now has a rising quarterback and a proven running back returning along with a solid offensive line, strong defense and one of the best receiving corps in the Big Ten.
