Michigan State basketball finished with yet another 100-point performance against Savannah State on Sunday afternoon, breaking a school record.

Watching Michigan State’s offense lately has been poetry in motion. The Spartans have made scoring 100 points look easy, and that’s something new in the Tom Izzo era. He has preached defense and rebounding since taking over in 1995, but the scary thing is, this team is doing it all.

Not only are the Spartans a top defensive team in the country, but they are also the best shot-blocking team, top-10 in rebounds, one of the best in shooting percentage and the passing is off the charts. In fact, Michigan State finished with 35 assists on 44 field goals Sunday afternoon against Savannah State.

Moreover, Michigan State broke a school record against the Tigers of Savannah State, scoring over 100 points for the fourth straight game for the first time in school history.

Scoring over 100 in three straight games was done before under Izzo back in November of 2004, but never had four consecutive happened before Sunday. The Spartans went on to win 108-52, out-scoring the Tigers 57-14 in the second half after an ugly first-half performance.

On top of that, Michigan State ended the game on a 32-0 run and played excellent defense, holding the Tigers to no points in the final eight-plus minutes and 26 percent shooting from the floor.

Michigan State seems to be the most complete team in college basketball thus far, and it was proven with three players reaching double-double status. Cassius Winston had 16 points and 13 assists, Nick Ward scored 21 points with 10 rebounds and Miles Bridges added 19 points and 21 boards.
