1. This team doesn’t get enough credit for elite shooting ability

When we talk about the best shooting teams of the Tom Izzo era, we think about the squads with guys like Chris Hill or Denzel Valentine and Bryn Forbes. Rarely do we talk about the team he currently has with guys like Josh Langford, Miles Bridges and Cassius Winston.

Heck, even Nick Ward is shooting a sky-high 70 percent from the floor and he’s missed a grand total of two shots over the past two games.

Honestly, this team doesn’t get nearly enough credit for being an elite shooting squad. The Spartans are shooting 52 percent from the floor as a team. That number is good for fourth in the country, right behind TCU and UNLV while Virginia Tech is up at 54 percent.

On top of that, the Spartans shoot a little over 41 percent from 3-point range, which is good for 14th nationally. These numbers are impressive, but no one seems to talk about them. Michigan State shot 15-for-26 from 3-point range and 65 percent from the floor on Friday night. It’s time to start talking about this Spartan team being an elite shooting squad — maybe even Izzo’s best yet.
