1. The 2018 season will be special

No one expected Michigan State to go from 3-9 to 10-3 in just one season and that was with no bright spot in sight. Sure, the fans had Mark Dantonio’s positive words and promises of a turnaround to live by, but after a disastrous 2016 season, what could they believe anymore?

Dantonio stayed true to his word and turned Michigan State around and flipped the script on a nightmarish 2016 campaign. Now that the program is headed back in the right direction, it’s time to expect bigger things for 2018 and this team proved it can be special next year.

The Spartans return just about every starter with the exception of guys like Demetrius Cooper, Chris Frey and Brian Allen. The youth helped lead the turnaround with guys like Cody White, Hunter Rison, Kevin Jarvis, Naquan Jones, Joe Bachie, Mike Panasiuk, Josiah Scott, Justin Layne, David Dowell and Brian Lewerke leading the way.

Michigan State is also bringing in an impressive 2018 recruiting class which could contribute right away and the Spartans will likely be a top-15 team to start the season. This team can be special and a trip back to the playoff is not out of the question.
