1. Spartans hold Cleveland State under 50 points

In my score predictions, I said that Michigan State would win, 95-58. However, these wouldn’t be bold predictions if I kept to that and just said the Spartans would win big. No, I need to be bold and go one step further.

Cleveland State won’t be able to crack 50 points on Michigan State. How likely is that to happen? Well, Rutgers held this same team to just 38 points earlier in the season and Michigan State beat the Scarlet Knights on the road.

The Vikings don’t have the best offense out there and they average under 70 points a game which is good for just 304th in college basketball. They also haven’t played a defense quite like Michigan State’s yet, which makes this matchup that much more lopsided.

Cleveland State likes to drive to the rim, but that’s the defense that has worked best for the Spartans this season. Teams have a tough time getting to the rack against the Spartans with Nick Ward and Jaren Jackson Jr. roaming the paint. Don’t expect the Vikings to be able to do much offensively.
