This is most likely the last time Spartan fans will get to see LJ Scott in a Michigan State uniform. I highly doubt that he will return for his senior year, even though Scott has kept mum about his plans. He had a great freshman campaign and every Spartan fan will hold him in high regard for his performance in the Big Ten Championship game in 2015. However, Scott had a solid season in 2016 but his 2017 year has been utterly disappointing.

True, his offensive line has not helped him and neither have the fumbling issues. Then he was arrested in October in connection with driving without a valid license. While that issue was cleared up these are red flags for any NFL team seriously considering him as a draft pick. In my opinion, it would be better for him to return next season. One game against WSU is not going to make a difference because the film does not lie.

Scott will have a difficult time running the ball against this Cougar defense led by Hercules Mata’afa. This guy is a beast and will give MSU fits all day. WSU shut down Bryce Love and the Stanford Cardinal. Love only had 69 yards rushing. The Spartans will have to be creative in getting Scott involved. He is too talented of a player and the Spartans need him to once again show that promise.
