3. Monty Madaris, WR (2012-16)

Monty Madaris was a 6-foot-1 four-star product out of powerhouse high school Archbishop Moeller in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was almost swayed at the last minute to play for the local Cincinnati Bearcats but he signed with Michigan State and was buried on the depth chart until his senior year.

The former four-star was often injured and that got him passed up. He turned in a few solid performances his senior year and looked to be a solid contributor but that 2016 season got away from MSU much like Madaris’ career.

When on the field, he ran sharp routes and looked the part. He was such a great athlete that MSU even tinkered with having him on the defensive side of the ball.

However, Madaris got lost in the shuffle. Things do not always work out for players. Madaris was a hard worker and possessed excellent hands. Having quarterback struggles was also a major contributing factor. Spartan fans will never know what he could have been.
