4. Josh Langford’s confidence keeps rising

I’m not going to say Josh Langford hasn’t been confident all season long since he’s good at keeping a level head, but there have been times when his shot wasn’t falling and it seemed to affect the rest of his game. However, he’s been taking shots from just about everywhere lately, and draining them.

Langford finished the Long Beach State game 6-for-9 from the floor and 4-for-5 from 3-point range. He added two rebounds, an assist and a steal while turning the ball over twice. He needs to work on his turnovers, but it hasn’t rattled him much on either end of the floor.

Confidence seems to be budding with the sophomore wing and you can tell by the shots he takes. He loves the mid-range game, even with a hand in his face, and he’s usually confident that it’s a make. Heck, he even took a mid-range jumper or two on Thursday with a hand directly in his face and began to run back on defense before it went through the net. He’s on that Bryn Forbes level of confidence right now.

Langford has now scored 10-plus points in all but four games this season and Michigan State is undefeated in regular season play through his first two years when he breaks double-digits. He’s also shooting 47 percent from the floor and 44 percent from 3-point land this year.
