2. Jordan Allen, 3-star JUCO DE (Fairfield, Calif.)

Junior college (or JUCO) transfers are always highly-coveted among recruiting circles. Why is that? Well, these kids have experience playing at a level higher than high school and slightly lower than Division 1. On top of that, they are eligible to play right away despite the fact that they are transferring from another college.

Michigan State is going strong after one of the best JUCO defensive ends in the country. The Spartans have had good luck with JUCO transfers in the past, but could strike gold with Jordan Allen.

The three-star defensive end is ranked No. 17 overall in the JUCO ranks — fringing on four-star status — and he’s the second-best weak-side defensive end in the class, according to 247Sports. He has the look of an elite defensive end, standing 6-foot-5 and weighing 240 pounds and he’s quick off the ball. According to his HUDL, he runs a 4.52 40-yard dash, which is unheard of for ends.

Allen has impressive side-to-side speed and rarely can running backs get the edge on him. Also, when he gets a quarterback in his sights, it’s game over. Allen officially visited Michigan State this past weekend and listed the Spartans in his top five. There’s a good chance Michigan State picks this kid up.
