3. Miles Bridges is attempting to be a more complete player

People may have looked at the box score and were quick to criticize the lack of accuracy or effectiveness from Miles Bridges. The superstar sophomore finished with just 12 points on 4-of-12 shooting and 1-of-4 from long range, but it’s because he’s trying to become a more complete player and facilitator.

After the game, he spoke about how he wants to get his teammates involved and he’s making a more concerted effort to drive to the hole a bit more. Tom Izzo has even said that he’s been trying to get Miles to take it to the hole more and not settle for contested 3-pointers.

While Bridges can surely make the long-range shot, he also has the talent and the athleticism to drive to the basket and score with ease basically whenever he wants. He did take a few contested jumpers, as evidenced by his 1-for-4 from 3-point range effort, and he missed some bunnies, but this type of play will be better for him and the Spartans in the long-run.

Imagine a team that can features outside shooters like Cassius Winston, Josh Langford and Matt McQuaid while also possessing strong post play and a newfound slasher in Miles Bridges.
