4. Josh Langford stays hot

Although I don’t believe Josh Langford is going to score 20 points, maybe not even 15, I do think he’s going to have a major impact and remain red-hot. He scored 23 points against North Carolina and 17 against Notre Dame and facing Nebraska is a nice change of pace. That will work to his advantage.

This isn’t just a prediction for his offensive production. I believe Langford will also have his best defensive showing of the season, finishing with a couple of big steals which will, in turn, lead to fast-break buckets. Tom Izzo has wanted to see an uptick in defensive intensity from Langford and he’ll witness that on Sunday.

The sophomore guard has made it his mission to improve in every facet of the game and he’s going to continue his rise. He will still shoot the ball well, but he’s not going to take 15 shots. He’ll go 5-of-8 from the floor for 12 points and two of those will be 3-pointers.

Michigan State needs Langford to be at his best in the most important games of the year because he changes the entire dynamic of the offense. With him as an extra threat, teams struggle to defend the Spartans. He provides another elite scoring option in a loaded offense.
