4. Run game will get back on track behind LJ Scott

It really is tough to just completely forget about the run game. With all the success Brian Lewerke has had through the air to this point in the season, guys like LJ Scott, Gerald Holmes and Madre London can be forgotten.

The run game has been a fraction of what it normally is and that’s mostly due to a young, developing offensive line. The line has been solid in pass protection, for the most part, but opening running lanes has been a work in progress.

In fact, the only 100-yard rusher on the season was LJ Scott against Minnesota when he posted a career-high of 194 yards and two touchdowns on 25 carries. Don’t expect him to break that total against the Terrapins, but he will get back on track with about 150 yards.

Michigan State has waited far too long to get the run game back on track and this is the perfect opportunity, facing a team that allows over 170 yards per game on the ground. The Spartans will finish with over 200 yards rushing with Scott leading the way.
