3. Joe Bachie’s motivation

I have not seen a middle linebacker that has played at the level of Max Bullough quite like sophomore Joe Bachie has. He has proven to be a threat in when he drops in coverage as well as a pass rusher. He is everywhere seemingly at all times.

Often he knows what the offense is going to call better than the offense itself. He read the Iowa offense as if it was a paperback.

The middle linebacker is the quarterback of the defense and he is a major reason why this defense has played so well thus far. He brings an attitude that has been missing and he backs up his talk with performance. He has quickly become one of the best linebackers in the Big Ten.

Oh, and I almost forgot, Ohio State did not offer him a scholarship. I’m positive there will be more than enough motivation for him to play well on Saturday.
