3. Mark Dantonio vs. James Franklin feud

The last two meetings between these two coaches have been blowouts for each team. I am personally predicating a 45-21 loss for the Spartans (I hope Sparty can keep it close and pull out a win).

There has been hearsay about Mark Dantonio’s recruiting tactics from Franklin. Also, Franklin himself apologized at Big Ten Media Days for negative recruiting. In 2016, Michigan State was almost able to land Miles Sanders away from Penn State but the five-star running back ultimately chose the Nittany Lions.

The last time these two teams met in East Lansing, the Spartans were able to come up with a huge win and late in that game Jack Allen on a trick play got the ball on a sweep and tumbled into the end zone.

Any time a coach with as much pride as Franklin has seen a play like that, then it’s expected he will get payback and then some. Franklin will be looking for more in this game.
